A little more information
No matter what your equity consciousness level is right now, you can always improve it. But to do so, self-reflection in a multi-dimensional way is not only necessary, but imperative for true, sustainable change to occur.
Equity consciousness is a great place to start as you look for ways to improve the way you see diversity. This experience explores four sources of reflection:
- Deficit view
- Rationalization
- Diversity Erasure
- Normalization
Some people tend to be naturally conscious of diversities, but most of us need to improve – and we have the power to do so. The reality is, whether reflecting individually while setting personal goals, or challenging one another in small group discussions, taking the opportunity to recognize how to grow your understanding of areas of growth at a level that allows for an approach to learning and living that is accessible, engaging, culturally sustaining, anti-racist -inclusive, makes all the difference in the world.
Experience Objectives
Self-assess personal unconscious and conscious drivers of current practices as bridges or barriers to reveal opportunities for change.
The design of the accompanying experience to the Equity Consciousness Self-Assessment is to engage with thought-provoking content, and if chosen, the option of feedback, live coaching and/or full on facilitation. All offer the opportunity to not only see our unconscious and conscious drivers but to see things differently. The intent is to leave changed, ready to instill great impact.
You’ve got options but the important thing is that you start today.
